ACT South Africa

Youth Day Celebrations took on a special flavour for the children of the inner city of Johannesburg on 14 June when seven members of The House Group, who are active ACT Youth Ambassadors, took it upon themselves to cater a meal for hundreds of under privileged children.
The Hillbrow Theatre hosted Youth Day plays by talented actors from local schools on Saturday supported by the Wits Drama Department. The ACT Youth Foundation members mostly used food grown organically in The House Group gardens to make a wholesome soup enough to feed participants and spectators. The girls not only grew and prepared the food but also served the meal themselves and cleaned up afterwards.
We wish to offer our gratitude and a huge thank you to Milica & Ognjen Bulatovic of La Concorde Bakery in Linbro Park, Sandton, for their very generous donation of freshly baked bread, croissants and treats to supplement the meal and offer a sweet after- treat. The ACT Youth Ambassadors learned a great deal from the experience and the children who benefited with a meal were grateful for the sweet, fresh tasty treats.
Well done girls!
