Help for 8 Families in Obrenovac
On 29 June 2014 the team of Fondacija “ACT Foundation” (in short, ACT Serbia) was again in Obrenovac for our biggest flood relief action till date. This time the initiative was thoroughly pre-planned and recipients of aid among the flood victims were selected after reconnaissance by our team on the ground.
After visit to the flooded areas in the Obrenovac municipality and discussions with representatives of the local government, our team identified eight most needy families (mainly with children) and what exactly was required for them to start life anew with basic life conditions being fulfilled.
Families Desančić, Paklar, Kostic, Pavlovic, Filipovic, Golomuz, Djuric and Ivkovic
Were donated the following items: beds, flooring (wooden laminate), toiletries, baby food, diapers, children’s clothing, towels, blankets.
Aside from the above-mentioned families, upon reaching Obrenovac our team was greeted by Mr. Ivan Jegorovic, Deputy Mayor of Obrenovac, who sincerely acknowledged the importance of charity initiatives like this and the work of ACT Serbia in general. Delivery of aid was covered by the local media (TV station Mag from Obrenovac). The TV broadcast can also be viewed on You Tube.
ACT Serbia is committed to continue helping families who were most affected by the floods in Serbia and the region. We intend to continue with further flood relief initiatives in the near future, which will be communicated on our website and Facebook pages in English and Serbian.
A sincere thank you to the volunteers and activists ACT Serbia, as well as the following donors who made this initiative possible:

Finally, I would like to share with you one of the many testimonials that we received from the recipients of aid so far, a true inspiration for our further work:
“A heartfelt thank you to your Foundation and you Ms. Spomenka. May you be blessed and continue to grow and be successful in reaching out to the suffering people throughout Serbia and the world. Greetings from me and my family whom you helped a lot after being deeply affected by the flooding in the Obrenovac area.”- Srdjan Filipovic, Belgrade
